Where to find them#
Open the settings menu (the cogwheel in the top right) and choose Integrations. The page lists one
card per Meta business you have connected.
What Renable asks for, and why#
You choose what Renable may use, one item at a time. There are three kinds, and each one does something
different:
- Ad accounts — Renable reads the ads in them, and switches a design when you choose Use this
design in the Renable Options panel.
- Meta catalogs — read only. This is how Renable works out which of your Renable feeds an ad's
products come from. Nothing in a Meta catalog is ever changed.
- Pages — switching a design creates a new version of the ad's creative, and Meta creates it under a
Page. Renable always uses the Page the ad already runs under, and it never posts anything to a Page.
The one thing that writes back is Use this design, which you click yourself, ad by ad.
An ad whose Meta catalog or Page you did not select still runs. The panel just cannot show or switch its
design.
Connect a Meta business#
- On the Integrations page, click Add integration.
- Click Continue with Meta and sign in with a Meta account that can manage the business you want to
connect.
- Pick the Meta business this connection is for, and click Next.
- Review what Renable may use, then click Connect.
Step 4 is the whole point. Renable lists what the business you picked owns or has been shared with it.
Each item is listed once, under the business that owns it — so if you run ads for clients, each client is its own line, and a client's Meta catalog
appears under that client rather than under your agency. Everything starts ticked; untick anything Renable
should not use. A line's checkbox works without opening it, so granting a whole client is one click.
Each line says what Renable gets from that business — "2 ad accounts · 1 Meta catalog · 1 Page", or
Nothing selected — so a closed list is still readable. The footer under the list adds them up across
every business.
The search box above the list covers business names and asset names at once, so an agency can type a
client's name and see that client alone; the x at the end of the box clears it again. All and
None beside it act on whatever is on screen, and they say so while a search is running — they read
All shown and None shown then, and tick only the rows matching what you typed.
Two things worth knowing about that list:
- Ad accounts, Meta catalogs and Pages belong to the business that owns them, not to the business
you picked in step 3. That is why an agency sees a line per client rather than one long list, and why
nothing appears twice.
- Renable never shares anything on your behalf. The list is what the business you picked can already
reach; Renable only adds its own access to those items. If something a client owns is missing, ask the
client to share it with your business in Meta Business settings — it appears on the list after that.
Nothing Renable does changes what your clients have shared with you, and disconnecting leaves it
exactly as it was.
- What you tick is what Renable asks Meta for. Nothing is dropped on the way and nothing is added:
the three kinds are separate on Meta, so you can give Renable a client's Meta catalog without its ad
account, or the other way round.
You need at least one ad account, so Connect stays greyed out until one is ticked. That is the only
thing the list will refuse.
If you have more than ten Meta businesses, step 3 becomes a search box instead of a list. If you have
exactly one, the step is skipped.
What a card tells you#
Each card is one Meta business and shows:
- How much Renable holds — "3 ad accounts · 2 Meta catalogs · 2 Pages".
- The ad accounts by name, each linking to that account in Meta Ads Manager. IDs are never on screen
anywhere in Renable — hover a name if you need one.
- When the access was granted, and by whom.
Change what Renable may use#
Click Edit access on the card. The same list opens, preloaded with what Renable holds today: tick
anything to add, untick anything to remove.
- A removal is shown, not hidden. The row stays where it is with a Will be removed chip until you
click Save access, and the footer counts what is about to change ("Adding 2 · Removing 1"). Hover
Save access to see those changes by name.
- Removing access changes no ad and no feed. Ads in a removed account, or using a removed Meta
catalog or Page, simply stop being recognised by the Renable Options panel until you add it back.
- Edit access starts with a Meta sign-in, every time. Adding and removing access on Meta are done as
you, not as Renable, and Renable never keeps your Meta session. There is no way around this step and
nothing is stored between visits.
- To remove a whole business, use Disconnect instead (below). Edit access is how a single ad account
leaves.
- A Page's access is removed in Meta Business settings. Meta does not let Renable take it back for
you, so unticking a Page here leaves it in the list with the note that Meta didn't remove it. Open
Business settings on Meta, find the Page, and remove Renable's access there. Ad accounts and Meta
catalogs are removed here as usual.
- If something couldn't be changed, the list stays open and names the item. Meta can refuse one item
and accept the next. Whatever could be changed is already saved. If a removal keeps coming back, remove
Renable's access to that item in Meta Business settings. If something you added wasn't granted, save
again in a moment — and if it keeps failing, check that item in Meta Business settings. Each refused
item carries its reason, in Meta's own words where Meta gave any.
- An item Renable already reaches through a business asset group can't be changed from Renable. The
note under the item says so: someone put Renable into a business asset group in Meta Business
settings that contains the item, and Meta only lets access granted that way be changed in the group
itself. If that group already lets Renable create ads with the item, nothing more is needed — the item
just won't be listed on the card. To manage the item from Renable instead, remove it from the business
asset group in Meta Business settings, then tick it again in Edit access and save.
- A very large first save can take a while. Renable asks Meta about every item one at a time, so an
agency saving hundreds of them at once should expect to wait. If it fails, nothing is lost — open Edit
access again and save the rest.
Pages waiting on Meta#
Some businesses show Pages: once Meta approves in place of the Page count. Meta reviews the
permission that lets Renable create an ad's new creative, and until that review is done for your
business there are no Pages to grant.
You still see the Pages in the list. They sit under a line saying Meta has not approved the permission
yet, and their checkboxes are greyed out — there is nothing to grant them on, so there is nothing to
tick. A Page Renable already holds is not greyed out: that one is granted, and you can still remove it.
This is a state, not an error. Everything else connects and works: the panel can show which design an ad
is running, it just cannot switch it. Open Edit access again once the card stops saying this, and add
the Pages then.
Add access from inside Ads Manager#
When the Renable Options panel meets an ad whose Meta catalog or Page Renable was not given, it says so
and offers Add access in Renable, which names the path in the same sentence — Integrations → your
business → Edit access — so you can also click through by hand. Following it signs you in with Meta, then
opens the access list on a short confirmation: the missing items at the top, already ticked, each with a
line saying what it is for. Everything Renable already holds sits below, unchanged. Click Add access,
then Refresh in the panel.
If the ad's account was never connected at all, the same link starts the full connect flow instead, with
those items ticked once their business appears in the list.
Sometimes the item cannot be added from here, and the row says which case it is: a Page while Meta is
still approving Renable's Page permissions (add it once the card stops saying so), a Meta catalog your
own Meta account cannot read (ask the business's admin to share it with you first), or an item that belongs
to a business your Meta account doesn't manage. Add access is greyed out when that is all there is to
do.
Disconnect a business#
Open the card's ⋮ menu and choose Disconnect. This is the whole business: every ad account, Meta
catalog and Page Renable holds for it. The confirmation lists them by name.
Renable stops reading those ads, so the Renable Options panel stops showing designs for them. Your feeds
and your ads keep running exactly as they are, and you can connect the business again at any time.
Disconnecting also removes Renable's access on Meta, which is why it asks you to sign in with Meta
first — that removal is done as you. It removes Renable and nothing else: whatever your clients have
shared with your business stays shared, and you go on managing it exactly as before. If you close Meta’s
window, nothing is disconnected.
Troubleshooting#
"Meta is still registering Renable as a partner of this business." The first time a business is
connected, Meta takes a moment to register the partnership, and the connection can arrive before it
has. Renable waits and retries on its own for about fifteen seconds; if this message still appears,
wait a minute and connect again — nothing was saved by the failed attempt.
"Meta did not accept the ad account connection." This usually means Renable's ad permissions are still
being approved by Meta. Your catalog connections and your feeds are unaffected — they use a separate
permission — so everything else keeps working while this is sorted out. Try again later, or contact
support if it persists.
Nothing happens when you click Continue with Meta. Three different things look identical here: you
closed Meta's popup, you declined the permission, or Meta's login script is blocked. Try again and complete
the Meta dialog; if the popup never appears at all, allow connect.facebook.net in your ad blocker and
reload the page.
You can't see the ad account, Meta catalog or Page you expect. The list is what the business you
picked in step 3 owns or has been shared with it, so anything else has to be shared with that business
first: ask the owner's admin to do it in Meta Business settings, then open the list again. Check as well
that you are signed in with a Meta account that can manage the business that owns the item.
A client's line is missing one of the three kinds. Meta only lists what your own Meta account may
see, and it can refuse one kind while answering the others. The line says which kind it refused, and
everything else on it still connects — ask that business's admin to give you access to the rest in Meta
Business settings, then open Edit access again.
The same ad account is used by two of your organizations. That's supported — connect it in both, and
the panel handles it for you. When the Renable Options panel meets an ad in that account, it works out
which organization the ad belongs to from the Renable channel that feeds the ad's Meta catalog, so it
never asks you to choose. The one thing it does ask about is channels: if more than one of your channels
feeds the same Meta catalog, it asks which channel you want to look at.
