RedditDynamic Product Ads with your reviews in the listing

People go to Reddit to research before they buy. Reddit’s catalog has two columns for that moment, average rating and number of ratings, and almost nobody fills them. Renable fills both from the reviews it already holds for every product, and gets your catalog live with no application.

The two columns

A rating in the listing, without a review platform for Reddit

Reddit's catalog has two review columns it can show on the ad. A plain store sync leaves them empty. Renable already has every product’s score and review count from Trustpilot, Yotpo, Bazaarvoice or TestFreaks, so the columns fill themselves.

Community is the format

The ad that fits r/hiking reads as an outsider in r/running

Reddit shows your ad next to a discussion, and Reddit’s own advice is to narrow the creative to the community. Build a product set per community, tag it with a custom label for the campaign, and keep out what a community should never see.

Product sets and labels are set once in Renable and ride in the feed. The campaign that targets each community is built in Reddit Ads Manager.

The feedSix fields and a pixel, and you are in

Reddit asks for less than any other ad destination: an id, a title, a description, a link, an image and a price. Availability is only recommended. Renable writes the feed as a tab-separated file with Reddit’s own column names, so there is nothing for Reddit’s reader to guess at.

The one thing on your side is the Reddit Pixel or Conversions API on your store. It is set up in Reddit Ads Manager, and Reddit treats it as mandatory. After you submit the catalog, Reddit reviews the products one by one and keeps a few categories out for good: alcohol, prescription drugs, cannabis and CBD, gambling.

Diagnostics

“Why did Reddit reject some of my products?”

Reddit approves products one at a time, and the catalog can sit half approved for a while. When some come back rejected, the reason is usually one of four. Ask Aimée and she names the products, then drafts the fix on the Reddit channel only.

A category Reddit prohibits
Alcohol, prescription drugs, cannabis and CBD, gambling. Reddit rejects them however clean the data is. An exclude rule keeps them out of the Reddit feed and in every other one.
Still pending Reddit’s review
Not rejected, just not approved yet. Reddit publishes no turnaround. Nothing to fix in the feed.
Missing a price or an image
Two of the six required fields. Renable warns before the feed goes out, and a rule or a lookup fills the gap.
A description longer than the ad shows
Reddit recommends staying under 180 characters. Longer is accepted but cut on the ad. A short AI description fits.
12 products rejected
Reason given: prohibited product category. 830 of 842 products approved.

Aimée

Reddit rejected 12 products as a prohibited category. Which ones, and why?

All 12 are your CBD recovery balms, the Recovery > CBD category. Reddit does not allow cannabis or CBD products in any ad. I’ve drafted a rule that keeps that category out of the Reddit feed. Your Meta and Google feeds are untouched.

Know which products, not just how many

Reddit gives you a count. Aimée gives you the list, the reason, and a draft you publish. The rest of the catalog keeps running while you look.

SetupLive on Reddit before the pixel has finished warming up

Tell Aimée which product set goes to Reddit and she drafts the channel: the six fields, the rating and review count from your review platform, and an exclude rule for the categories Reddit will not run. You review the draft and publish.

Renable hosts the feed at a stable address. Paste it into Reddit Ads Manager once, set the sync schedule there, and every update flows through on its own.

Reddit Dynamic Product Ads, answered

Do I have to apply to run product ads on Reddit?
No. Dynamic Product Ads are open to every Reddit advertiser, with no application, no waiting list and no store platform requirement. What Reddit does require is the Reddit Pixel or Conversions API on your store, and it reviews each product after you submit the catalog.
Where do the star ratings on the ad come from?
From your own review platform. Renable connects Trustpilot, Yotpo, Bazaarvoice, TestFreaks or a Google review feed, works out each product’s average score and review count, and writes them into the two columns Reddit reads. Reddit decides how it shows them.
Can I send a video for each product?
Not to Reddit. Its catalog has no video field, so a Reddit channel carries images only. Renable’s per-product videos go to Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Pinterest, where the catalog can take one.
Does this get me Collection Ads or the shopping carousels in Reddit search?
No. A catalog feed gives you Dynamic Product Ads. Collection Ads and the shopping carousels in search are Reddit’s own programs with their own eligibility, and a feed does not enrol you in them.
How often does Reddit read the feed?
On the sync schedule you set in Reddit Ads Manager. Renable refreshes the hosted feed roughly every hour on its side, so whenever Reddit fetches, prices and stock are current.
What does it cost?
A 30-day free trial of the 500-feed-item plan, then a flat price per feed item your rules keep. The Reddit channel and the review columns are on every plan, and there is no percentage of ad spend. If 100 feed items is all you need, switch down to the Free plan before the 30 days are up.
